Wild West Shootout resumes at Vado Speedway Park
Best Performance Motorsports pilot, Tyler Erb, returned to Vado Speedway Park (Vado, N.M.) on Wednesday afternoon as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout resumed.
Drawing 46 cars for the third round of the six-race tour, Erb raced his way into the opener via a sixth-to-third run in his B-Main after placing seven in his heat. Making up five positions in the 30-lap feature, Tyler salvaged a 16th-place outing.
Back in action on Friday, Tyler’s third-place finish in his heat pinned him on the eighth row for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Erb was an early retiree from the 30-lapper on lap 17.
On Saturday, Erb followed up a seventh-place showing in his heat with a sixth-to-first charge in his B-Main. Battling more bad luck in the feature, Tyler was pulled off early with seven circuits remaining.
The weekend drew to close on Sunday with Tyler qualifying for the $25,000-to-win Wild West Shootout finale via third-place performance in his B-Main. Advancing forward eight positions in the 50-lap feature, Erb reeled in a 13th-place outing.
