Thursday night found Tyler Erb in action at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. Drawing 48 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Tyler posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Dale McDowell, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the A-Main. Slipping outside the Top-10, Erb dropped five spots in the 30-lapper to place 13th.
The following night for another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Erb came one sport short of a transfer position in his heat race with a fourth place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Posting a second place finish behind Chris Madden, Tyler locked into the 21st-starting position for the A-Main. Losing one spot in the 30-lap affair, Erb logged a 22nd place outing.
With preliminary finishes from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for the main event on Saturday evening, Tyler was in 17th overall in preliminary points, which positioned him on the pole of his B-Main. Picking up a 15-lap consolation victory, Erb locked into the 17th-starting spot for the Comp Cams Topless 100. With $40,000 on the line, Tyler Erb clawed forward seven spots in the 100-lapper to register a 10th place finish.
