Erb bags a pair of Top-10 finishes in Jackson 100 weekend
On Thursday evening Tyler Erb was one of 22 Late Models on hand at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) for the $5,000 top prize. Starting the night off with a heat race victory, Erb locked into the third-starting position for the main event. After slipping back to fifth early in the race, Tyler gained two spots after a late-race caution to come home third behind Bobby Pierce and Josh Rice with Trevor Landrum and Zack Dohm rounding out the Top-5.
The following night at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned doubleheader, Tyler edged his way into the main event with the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. With $10,000 on the line, Erb marched through the field nine spots in the 40-lap affair to register a sixth place finish.
On Saturday afternoon in a field of 60 cars for the Jackson 100, Erb came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Holding his spot for all 12 laps to finish second behind Steve Casebolt, Tyler locked into the 24th-starting position for the $15,000-to-win finale. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Tyler Erb passed 17 cars in the 100-lapper to score a seventh place finish.
Tyler sits in fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings. Full results from these events are available at www.FlorenceSpeedway.com and www.LucasDirt.com.
