Behind the wheel of his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model, Tyler Erb invaded Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for the Cotton Pickin’ 100 weekend. Drawing 34 cars for the two-day event, Erb secured his spot into the opening night feature with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Spencer Hughes. On Saturday afternoon, Tyler came in fifth fastest in his time trial group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Starting the $15,000-to-win Cotton Pickin’ 100 in second, Erb blasted into the lead on the drop of the green flag and led the first 23 circuits. With eventual race-winner Chris Madden sneaking by on lap 24, Tyler was challenging for a podium spot until a caution with 13 laps remaining dropped him back to seventh. Muscling his way back into the Top-5, Tyler Erb notched a fifth place finish behind Madden, Tim McCreadie, Billy Moyer Jr., and Chris Ferguson.
