In what has been an unfortunate, recurring theme for Tyler Erb so far this year he battled more bad luck over the weekend in his #91 Erb Racing/Rocket by Litton/Hwy 105 Machine Super Late Model in P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) action.
The weekend began with a rainout at Golden Triangle Speedway (Beaumont, Texas) before action was able to resume on Saturday at Battleground Speedway (Highlands, Texas) with a $2,500-to-win event. Twenty-one entries took part in the event, and via preliminary action Tyler started fifteenth on the grid for the feature event. As the green flag dropped on the main event he began marching his way forward into the top ten and soon found himself cracking the top five. With twelve laps to go Erb had worked his way into the third spot, when mechanical gremlins found him once again as a broken power steering hose forced him to retire from the event to a disappointing thirteenth place finish.
