1Tyler Erb made the trek to Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) on Saturday afternoon in his #91 Erb Racing/Rocket by Litton/Hwy 105 Machine Super Late Model for a $2,500-to-win, Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) event, which marked his final race of the 2012 season. It would prove to be a frustrating outing for the young driver.

With thirty Super Late Models entered into the program, his outing began with a broken rear end in hot laps, which forced the team to unload their brand new car. With no laps on the car he was forced to start on the tail of his heat race. With Erb going to a backup car he was not eligible for passing points, and a fifth place finish in his heat left him short of locking into the feature. As a result he was relegated to a b-main, where he finished fourth to earn the twentieth and final starting spot for the main event. During the course of the feature he advanced eight spots on his way to a twelfth place finish at the checkered flag. Despite all of his bad luck early in the program Tyler never gave up and was able to salvage a solid finish.

The event marked the final race of the 2012 season for the SUPR tour, and despite not joining the tour until Memorial Day he still managed to record a sixth place finish in the final standings. It was a successful rookie season for the young driver, and he now looks ahead to bigger and better things in 2013!
